Active learning is an essential component of my instructional designs as a Teaching > Instructional Designer. I believe that active learning strategies engage learners in a more meaningful and interactive way, enhancing their understanding and retention of the material. By incorporating various active learning strategies, I aim to create a dynamic learning environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration among learners.
One way I incorporate active learning is by utilizing group discussions and collaborative activities. These activities encourage learners to actively participate in the learning process by exchanging ideas, sharing perspectives, and collectively solving problems. Group discussions can take the form of brainstorming sessions, case studies, or debates, allowing learners to explore concepts from different angles and learn from their peers’ experiences.
Another active learning strategy I employ is the use of hands-on activities and simulations.
