During my tenure as an ESL instructor, I have encountered and supported several students with learning disabilities. I am familiar with the challenges they face and the accommodations that can help them succeed.
One student, Maria, had difficulty with reading comprehension. I provided her with simplified texts and allowed her extra time to complete assignments. I also used visual aids to help her understand the content.
Another student, Ahmed, struggled with writing. I provided him with templates and sentence starters to help him organize his thoughts. I also gave him feedback on his drafts and helped him to revise and edit his work.
